2013- Highly Cited Article IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control, November

First authored publication titled “Ultrasound Beam Simulations in Inhomogeneous Tissue Geometries Using the Hybrid Angular Spectrum Method“, was one of the most cited articles in IEEE Ultrasonics. The paper introduced a fast FFT-based algorithm to model acoustic beam simulation in complex media. The project is described in detail here.

2013- Editor’s Selection of Highly Cited Articles in IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control, July

First authored publication titled, “Ultrasound Beam Simulations in Inhomogeneous Tissue Geometries Using the Hybrid Angular Spectrum Method” was listed in Editor’s selection of articles, for its impact in reducing calculation times for complex wave propagation.  The project is described in detail here.

2013- Recipient of the Brain Program Award from the Focused Ultrasound Surgery Foundation for work on Phase Aberration Correction for Transcranial Ultrasound Surgery

Awarded a $100,000 grant as a primary investigator for my postdoctoral work at Stanford. The technique eliminated the CT component of a surgery, while dramatically reducing the number of MR measurements required from 3000 to just one. More details on the project here.

2011-Finalist Graduate Student Paper Award, International Society of Therapeutic Ultrasound

First authored publication,” Non-invasive patient-specific acoustic property estimation for MR-guided focused ultrasound surgery”, was chosen as a finalist for the best graduate student paper. Technique demonstrated the measurement of acoustic properties for the first time in in-vivo experiments, more details here.

2010-Recipient of the Young Investigator Award at the 2nd International Symposium on MR-guided Focused Ultrasound, Washington, DC, USA

Awarded the award at the 2nd International Symposium on MR-guided Focused Ultrasound in Chantilly, Virginia for work on a to measure acoustic properties for the first time in in-vivo experiments, more details here.

2010-Recipient of the New Investigator Award at the Society of Thermal Medicine Annual Meeting in Clearwater, Florida.

Awarded the award at the 2nd International Symposium on MR-guided Focused Ultrasound in Chantilly, Virginia for work on a to measure acoustic properties for the first time in in-vivo experiments, more details here.
